How to Enter Stages Towards New Beginnings in the Midst of Chaos

Hello everyone, friends. My name is Tanaya Mays and I love to write in my journals, take beautiful pictures, and do things that makes me feel good.

In this article, I will share with you how to enter stages towards new beginnings while in the midst of chaos using my personal experience.

Life can sometimes take a sudden spin and unload a chain of chaotic events. I learned to find calmness to prevent drowning in the unknown. I hope you find these tips helpful and may you stay afloat of the unexplained ways of life.

1.) Shed Your Past Self Daily

This is one of the most important, yet challenging way to enter new beginnings. In fact, this may take longer than expected if you are on social media or living or surrounded by the same person you are trying to leave in the past. How can you shed your past if he/she is in your face?

I found it helpful by taking time each day sitting alone in an opened space surrounded by clear blue skies, luscious trees, beautiful pink flower bushes, and autumn leaves. The world is huge, beautiful, and full of spaces where it can just be one person plus several trees. Sometimes I wonder how such spaces would look at night. Breathing in the fresh air repeatedly helps to remove current thoughts. Smelling the air while taking deep breaths allowed me think of the current smells. Feeling the wind on my skin was proof that it was just me and nature at a moment in time. Nothing else mattered. At that point, I wondered why did it even mattered in the first place? I washed all thoughts away by just being one in nature. The only problem that came to the brain was how to feel more comfortable just watching the trees.

2.) Aim Higher

This was easy for this moment. With the sounds of nature, my journal,  and pen, it felt as though I could achieve anything I placed my mind on. Like writing this article in my journal. I didn’t pick up my phone, nor heard any voices that would alter my true ways of thinking. I found it helpful by repeating the statements, “I am like a bird. I am like a plane. I am like a butterfly.” It helped because right before saying these statements, I actually did see birds, planes, and butterflies. Saying these statements allowed me to realize I was unreachable at that moment of time! I didn’t even care to check my phone when I heard it repeatedly vibrate. I had the ability to soar! Each time a problem occur, thinking back to this moment is a great reminder that I was able to rise above those problems at any time! This helped me realize I had the power to choose whether to confront these problems or not give it any attention. Such problems shouldn’t even be holding me back from reaching my full potential? Why are the problems holding me back? Is it really a problem or the person behind the problem? Why even give them consistent acknowledgment throughout the day? And in that case, is it really the problem of the person holding me or is it myself holding me from reaching my full potential. How did I enter an opened space to write in my journal? Who is really in control, pilot?

3.) Be Aware of Forests

As I sat the opened space, I noticed a gate that separated the opened space from the beautiful trees that were planted so mindfully in the forest. The trees were beautiful, but entering the forest, especially without proper navigation, will cause a possibility of getting lost, snake bites, falling off hills, and stepping on small, but hard rocks. Oh the danger!

Some rocks are even as beautiful as the trees. I witnessed the rocks glistening under the clear skies. I wondered how did glitter and sparkles get on the rocks. How interesting, yet so interrupting of my meaningful thoughts. The air smelled lovely in the opened space. I wondered if the forest had something to do with that.

4.) Deep Breathing

Breathe easy. Deep breaths in, deep breaths out. Closing my eyes to focus on my breathing patterns helped with maintaining attention towards my total being. I asked myself what is this type of rhythm that was created from breathing. Was it fast? Was it slow? Is it on time? I focused on creating the greatest breathing pattern. This sounds unusual, but it cleared away unnecessary thoughts for just a moment in time. It was just me and the air I breathed at that moment.

I thought of myself as a fetus in my mother’s womb. As a developing fetus, i imagined closing and opening my eyes and breathing was all that I can do, so I did that. I held my eyes closed longer than I kept them opened. Each time I opened my eyes I was met with the surprising beauty of nature.

Repeating these steps is a sure way to clear lingering thoughts and problems. Breathe and focus only on breathing and the sounds of nature for an added experience. If other sounds shall enter the space of your breathing technique, then remaining focused on just breathing sounds is highly recommended. Tuning nature out can be helpful to tune out sudden voices as well. The other sounds should not interfere with the rhythm and pattern of your breathing. The sounds should not make your face twitch, eyes twitter, or even cause your eyes to open in the direction of the noise. Remaining focused on stillness and thoughts of a fetus was key to keeping composure. If anything you are a beautiful butterfly, gliding past the noise and dancing in the wind.

5.) Time is of the Essence

The sounds will continue. Life will continue on by when sitting in the midst of it just to enter new beginnings. There’s beauty in the way life present itself in the most remarkable moments. I witnessed a child mimicking my breathing. It was a wonderful sight. Being the guide and the vision, can give children meaning and hope.

Be the calm in the storm. Be gentle with your steps towards new beginnings. Be nurturing. Be reassuring. Be the one the people migrates towards for reassurance and acceptance. Always have a beautiful soul. Reinvent yourself as many times as necessary until you capture the moment you were always searching for. Be pure always. Pure intentions is not even being pure, it’s just being. And that is when you realize you have entered a stage towards new beginnings.
